Rocky Peak Virtual Elementary School offers three distinct virtual learning choices for students:
- Synchronous Choice - Most common choice. Daily live instruction will be provided in reading, writing, math, and science/social studies. Students will receive instruction from their assigned teachers. Live class 8:30-1:00
- Asynchronous Choice - Recorded live instruction is available for the student to view on their own time. All assignments are due by Sunday night and will be graded the following week. Attendance is based off of work completed. Student is expected to participate in a live reading instruction program called Walk to Read 30 minutes a day. Asynchronous Learning is only available after successfully completing two weeks of Synchronous Learning.
- Self-Pace Learning Choice - Parents provide and deliver their own homeschool curriculum with access to in person classes via Peak Time. Students will work through the curriculum with weekly formal Check-Ins and communication with their assigned school coordinator. Ideally, the student will participate in a live reading instruction program called Walk to Read 30 minutes a day.
All learning options are accessed through Canvas. Live learning will take place through Zoom. Digital learning will be supported with additional Jordan School District approved platforms and programs.
Parents and students are encouraged to jointly decide which learning option best fits their learning needs. Additional questions about which choice is best for your student(s), please contact the school at 801-567-8480 or email David Hullinger, david.hullinger@jordandistrict.org
